Welcome to Blackboys Church of England Primary School
Perseverance, Thankfulness, Fellowship, Respect, Courage, Understanding
Our Vision is to raise the aspiration of all pupils to “Be the Very Best they can Be”, through providing an engaging and Christian environment alongside an exciting broad and balanced curriculum striving to develop the skills, attitudes and Christian values of the whole Federation Community to face the new challenges of the 21st century with confidence.
Blackboys Church of England Primary is a small, high-achieving school situated at the heart of an East Sussex village. We have close, positive relationships with all areas of our community, including the parish church, and have a very supportive governing body.
Here at Blackboys we pride ourselves on the progress, achievement and attainment of all our children. We have high expectations of behaviour and manners for our whole school community and an excellent reputation for the support and challenge our school offers.
We are proud of the high standards we achieve here. In 2019 Ofsted judged Blackboys to be a good school and we have also achieved standards marks including Arts Mark (Silver), Active Mark, Healthy Schools, International School (Intermediate stage), and Dyslexia Friendly Status (phase 1).
We provide an exciting, stimulating curriculum with a strong emphasis on all the arts - especially music. The National Curriculum is followed through a cross-curricular scheme of work, where possible. This enables our children to gain a greater understanding of the skills they need in all areas of learning and life, nurturing a love of learning and challenge.
We strongly feel that, when an individual child joins our school, we are admitting the whole family, and we emphasise the importance of positive relationships and open communications.
