Art Mission Statement
At Blackboys Church of England Primary School, we believe that every child is a unique and creative individual, made in the image of God. Our art curriculum, guided by the Kapow Primary Art scheme, aims to nurture imagination, develop artistic skills, and encourage confident self-expression in a safe and supportive environment.
Through a broad and balanced programme of study, we provide pupils with the opportunity to explore a diverse range of artists, cultures, materials, and techniques. Art at Blackboys inspires curiosity, deepens understanding, and connects children to both their own experiences and the wider world.
We strive to foster an appreciation for creativity, a growth mindset, and a sense of joy in making and evaluating art. By embedding our Christian values into our teaching, we promote respect, reflection, and celebration of each child’s individual journey as an artist.
Through Kapow’s progressive and engaging scheme, we ensure that all learners, regardless of background or ability, can develop their artistic voice and leave Blackboys with a lifelong appreciation of art and design.
